Controller- Construction

 

  • Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury
  • Oversee training programs and identifies training needs
  • Spearhead process improvement projects within the Accounting Department
  • Oversee a team of 10+ accounting employees
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Prepare the consolidation and monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
  • Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Act as point of contact for external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Participate in quarterly office visits to include training of remote office personnel and audits of accounting records

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years or more of related experience (required)
  • Job costing experience (preferred)
  • 3+ years in public accounting (preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation (preferred)
