- Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury
- Oversee training programs and identifies training needs
- Spearhead process improvement projects within the Accounting Department
- Oversee a team of 10+ accounting employees
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
- Prepare the consolidation and monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
- Produce the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
- Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Act as point of contact for external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Participate in quarterly office visits to include training of remote office personnel and audits of accounting records
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years or more of related experience (required)
- Job costing experience (preferred)
- 3+ years in public accounting (preferred)
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation (preferred)
