Assistant Controller- Real Estate

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Controller will work closely with and report to the Managing Director and Controllers performing the following functions:
  1. Assist in the preparation, and oversee the monthly/quarterly review, of Private Equity project financial statements
  2. Work with the rest of the team to maintain accurate entity charts, cap tables, and waterfalls for all entities
  3. Assist outside public accounting firm in the preparation of the tax returns for Private Equity projects
  • Manage the Private Equity team in achieving timely and accurate delivery of financial statements
  • Coordinate with project managers and directors to ensure financial statements are accurate and complete
  • Assist in the preparation of, and review, the month-end financial statements for the developer company
  • Coordinate with external tax team to maximize tax savings on all Private Equity projects
  • Oversee the payment of all construction draws related to Private Equity projects
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual investment valuations as part of the fiscal year-end audit

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required), with 3 -5 years of public accounting and/or experience in real estate tax preparation (highly preferred)
  • Experience in real estate development (preferred)
  • CPA (preferred)
