Responsibilities
- The Assistant Controller will work closely with and report to the Managing Director and Controllers performing the following functions:
- Assist in the preparation, and oversee the monthly/quarterly review, of Private Equity project financial statements
- Work with the rest of the team to maintain accurate entity charts, cap tables, and waterfalls for all entities
- Assist outside public accounting firm in the preparation of the tax returns for Private Equity projects
- Manage the Private Equity team in achieving timely and accurate delivery of financial statements
- Coordinate with project managers and directors to ensure financial statements are accurate and complete
- Assist in the preparation of, and review, the month-end financial statements for the developer company
- Coordinate with external tax team to maximize tax savings on all Private Equity projects
- Oversee the payment of all construction draws related to Private Equity projects
- Assist in the preparation of the annual investment valuations as part of the fiscal year-end audit
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required), with 3 -5 years of public accounting and/or experience in real estate tax preparation (highly preferred)
- Experience in real estate development (preferred)
- CPA (preferred)
